The CWG Center of Portland was started through a combining of energies and visions. In 2001 Philip Berens started the CWG Center of Hillsboro Oregon.  He told me the reason he chose the name was the initials are CWG COHO and “It was my intention to use the symbol of the Coho salmon to provide an anchor for the center.  To me the Coho represents a return home to create new life, connection to the stream of life, journeys, strength, peacefulness, bliss and love.”

In 2002 he combined forces with Angie DelPropost who facilitates a CWG Study Group in Portland.  Her group started looking at setting up the center as the CWG Center of Portland and was working on Bylaws when I showed up on the scene.

I have been studying CWG since the summer of 1998 and started a study group that has been going on since 1998.  I was offered a chance to teach a class on CWG through the Emerson Institute and was asked if I could be certified as a CWG teacher. I had not visited the CWG Foundation website   for some time and found they were supporting people to set up CWG Centers around the world. I realized I had energy to set up the CWG Center of Portland.  After conversations with Philip and Angie we determined that it would be a win win for all concerned if we combined forces since I had experience dealing with many of the hurdles they were slowly working through.

On 5/28/02 I met with the core group of the forming CWG Center of Portland. We did combine forces, and the core group and I, became the leadership team of the CWG Center of Portland, with me as the Director. We are all here to be of service to the CWG community and the community at large.

The CWG Center of Hillsboro Oregon is still an ongoing center, a vision Philip plans to move forward with, the leadership team supports him fully in that vision.  Right now he plans to focus on supporting the CWG Center of Portland.

Since the CWG Center of Portland has been incorporated and the legal structure has been laid out the leadership team has become the Advisory Board. There is room for you as an Advisory Board member, group participant, group facilitator or Interested Party. Please let us know of your interests and talents by contacting us.
